Marc Schwabenlander

Marc Schwabenlander co-founder, CFO, and COO of Priogen is a wildlife disease specialist educated and trained in wildlife management and public health administration and policy. He has 20 years of experience working in veterinary diagnostics where he coordinated service laboratory staff, students, and faculty; led the establishment and annual recertification of a BSL-3 lab; and represented on state and university committees. Marc joined the MNPRO team in 2019 and strategically led efforts to establish an expansive biorepository that facilitates a broad array of prion-focused research projects. As MNPRO Associate Director, he works closely with academic, state, tribal, and federal partners to orchestrate daily research and outreach activities. As the COO, Marc brings perspectives and experiences to Priogen in leading teams and organizations, as well as managing the safety and biosecurity in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories. His combination of professional accolades and a life-long history of hunting and actively participating in conservation groups provides a unique aspect to the mission of Priogen in both animal and human health.
